Rotary Club of Barry & District
The Rotary Club of Barry and District has been active within the heart of the community since 1937. The Club is involved in many activities locally and also sends help overseas in times of need.
The club has a growing membership and is keen to continue to forge links with both individuals and the corporate side. Business meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at Victoria Park Community Centre and a social evening on the fourth Thursday of the month, held in various venues around the Vale.
Some of the current projects which the Club is involved with include, the Summer Fete, which is held annually in August at Romilly Park and the new Memory Café, which is a weekly event held at Victoria Park Community Centre where people with Dementia and other memory problems come along with their carers and participate in activities such as crafts, board games, listen to music, play games, listen to speakers etc. Refreshments are also provided. We also have strong links with the Food Bank in Barry and have donated much needed supplies over the last few years.
There are always new projects being discussed, with members striving to find new ideas to help in the community and fundraise for worthy causes.
Should you wish to find out more about Rotary Club of Barry and District and the projects which we carry out, or think you would like to join us, you can follow us on social media or you are very welcome to come along to one of our meetings which are held on the second Thursday of every month. Everybody has a skill, whether you feel you would like to run a new project or help out on at on a stall at a fundraising event. You are all welcome!
